I’ve been talking to some people about starting some sort of Food Club, where a few friends will hang out and try a new restaurant that all, or most, of us have never tried before. If they want, they can also invite their friends and bring them along. So it’s kind of a city-exploration-slash-networking type of event.
Of the few people I asked, most of them seemed to be interested, so today i made a simple logo and created a Google Group for the club (initially I thought of making a website for it, but that’s too much work). Here’s the “mission statement”:
Welcome to Dine Out Club. Dine Out Club is a networking group for food connoiseurs in New York City proximity.
Periodic dine-out events will be planned at various NYC restaurants/eateries. While price range may occasionally go above $60, we will try to keep a $20~$50/meal price range. We also welcome suggestions - if you know of any good places in the NYC area or have any experience you’d like to share, feel free to post them on the discussion board.
Everyone is welcome to join. Feel free to invite your friends too!
If you’re interested, be sure to let me know, and I’ll keep you in the loop for any upcoming events. Unfortunately, this club is currently scheduled to take place in NYC only. But you’re more than welcome to join even if you live in Brooklyn/Queens/Jersey area!
