I’ve always enjoyed the “sandbox” OS environment Apple created within their products. However, when iPhone launched in 2007, I felt that sandbox restriction became the biggest flaw on this device/platform. I understand, and appreciate, the claims that sandbox environment provides a more controlled and stable user experience. But as a smartphone, the ability to install apps on the device is almost a standard feature. In that department, iPhone pales in comparison to Windows Mobile’s versitility.

WordPress 1.0 is finally out on iPhone. I’m going to take this app out for a test drive over the next few days/weeks. Right now the feature feels fairly basic, with functionality mainly focused on blog posts.

Some of the basic blog settings are there: category, tags, and edit previous entries. I also like how it allows you to save drafts locally and upload it once you have better data/wifi connection. Makes us EDGE user’s life a lot easier.

So here we are, the WWDC keynote behind us, His Jobsness spoke and the iPhone 3G is out of the bag, and I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed. A few things I’ve been having gripes with the original iPhone are a) Slow EDGE network, b) 2.0 megapixel camera, c) no video capture, d) no third party support, and e) no file management system. As my appetite for video podcasts grows, I also recently added a new gripe f) not enough disk space.

Ever since watching the movie Se7en back in ‘96, I grew a profound interest in any production (may it be literature, art work, or films) that draws inspiration from the seven sins. Recently I came across a clever glass set based just on that. It’s called the Seven Deadly Glasses and is available to order in limited quantity. The creator of these glasses said “each glass encapsulates a sin” and that they all about “encouraging user to be sinful in a theatrical fashion.” The glasses after the jump. (via Gizmodo)

I know I haven’t been updating in a long while. There actually are quite a lot if stuff I want to talk about, but just hadn’t got the time… with work getting busier and my recent trip to the west coast, I don’t really have much time to sit down in front of my computer and blog.
